Going to the gym can be a very stressful and eager thing. What if you aren't doing an exercise correctly, are their people looking at me, how do I start.
Working out at a gym starts with you. Getting there and staying consistent is the hardest part. Before stepping into the gym write down what you want to get out of your exercises and what you plan on doing for that day. What about yourself do you want to improve and set small goals that will keep you consistent.
Going to the gym with a partner can also help you stay motivated. You both are in it together and can keep each other accountable. This can also keep you from getting distracted and getting nervous around a new environment.
The internet is around us constantly and there are many amazing workout tips and guides for what you want to do. If you are planning on working on your arms, google some bicep or tricep workouts. Write down some exercises and plan on that being your workout for the day. Planning out your exercises daily will keep you efficient and less stressed while at the gym.
Regular physical activity can improve muscle strength and endurance. Exercising can also improve your memory and brain function, which will help you throughout your college career. Working out also boosts your immune system which is key while living in college. Since many people go out on the weekends and participate in the "party life" this increases the risk of getting a cold or illness. This can highly be seen throughout the Covid-19 pandemic when students went back to school.
