73% of college students have experienced some sort of mental crisis in college. College can be one of the best times in your young adult life, but with that also comes stress, time management, and extremely important life decisions. Mental health issues can not only affect your school work but can also affect your relationships outside of school.

Anxiety is the most common concern involving college students along with depression and stress. This is caused by a number of different things that college students go through like being open to a new environment, feeling homesick and an increased social pressure. Many students struggle with anxiety which negatively affects their schooling. Taking a leave of absence or reaching out for help may be scary, but you are always able to go back to school. Your mental well being is much more important than that grade you received In class or on a test!

Establishing a self-care routine and healthy habits into your day-to-day life will make a big difference. Doing physical activities, getting well rested, and doing little things that you enjoy outside of school will help your mental health immensely.

There also may be many resources at your college or University that want to help as well! Reaching out to a trusted adult or peer, whether it might be tough, will help you in the long run! Many schools have licensed psychiatrists and success coaches on campus that are willing and ready to help you throughout your journey, it's never too late! The key to reaching out is to acknowledge you want help and to not be scared to receive it.
