Food. Food is such a hard topic when it comes to health and fitness, specifically because everyones body is different. But food in college is a completely different story. This week we will be talking about meal prepping and how to get a healthy balance while in school.

Last week we talked about planning. This can be the same thing but just with your meals. Meal planning is an amazing thing to do if you do it correctly. This type of schedule helps to ensure that you are eating the right foods and the correct portions. Let's start out with a few steps that will get you started.

First, it is important that you identify your body type to find out what foods and drinks you need to consume to get to *your* body goals. Do you need protein? Are you trying to lose weight? Are you just trying to eat healthier? These are all common questions to ask yourself. If you are trying to lose weight, pay close attention to the calorie count on the back of what you are consuming. This will help you gain or lose weight, again depending on your body structure. After you have identified the goals you want to meet, then we can start meal prepping.

Take the foods/drinks you have and you can plan your meals for the week. College students are often busy trying to juggle classes, homework, and working, so you can meal prep the night before. Pack a lunch the night before to save you time and energy in the morning.

Next, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Make sure to always set aside time for a healthy and nutritious meal in the morning before you go to class. Skipping breakfast causes lack of energy, focus, and motivation, which all college students need. You can start your meal prepping at night, ensuring you have a nice and healthy breakfast to wake up too.

A crucial part in meal prepping is not to prepare multiple meals at a time for future days. In doing this, your meals can become soggy and can cause weird textures to your food. This eventually leads to wasting your meals and throwing them in the garbage which nobody wants.
