Taking Time for Yourself

College can be the most stressful time in your life, if you let it. Taking time out of your crazy schedule to just relax and unwind can be monumental for your well-being. The simplest tips and tricks that you involve into your life can lower anxiety and stress levels.
Set aside 30 minutes out of your day to do one thing you enjoy. Whether that is just sitting on your bed reading a book, doing yoga in your dorm room, or FaceTiming a long distance friend. Taking little moments out of your day to relax and unwind can lower your stress and anxiety levels that can carry over to your school life.
Go outside. Going outside and getting fresh air is another great way for self care. Receiving sunshine and fresh air can lower your blood pressure and reduce stress. Being outside can also improve your mood and improve focus. If you can't find a way to be outside, maybe chose to walk to class instead of drive, or you can eat lunch outside!
Going to the gym or going for a walk is another great self care tip. Physical exercise can again be great for your health while also improving your in-classroom behavior. Physical exercise releases feel good endorphins.
Their are many simple self care tips your most likely do on an everyday basis like drinking water, showering, and cleaning your room. These simple things create a healthier lifestyle for yourself which can carry over to your school work. Having a healthy and clean home life will transfer over to having a healthy, clean, and organized school life!
